Coronary artery disease is one of the most common forms of cardiovascular disease. One of the treatments for patients with this condition is coronary angiography performed in the cath lab. Starting with a review of pathologic insights into the calcified coronary lesion, experts will discuss the use of coronary angiography and emerging findings of the ECLIPSE trial. Tips and tricks for the treatment of severely calcified lesions will be shared with the attendees, and the economic rationale for using conventional angioplasty as a first line treatment will be examined. Faculty will also discuss case reviews, emphasizing the importance of calcium management for CHIP operators, and will conclude with a panel discussion of the presented case information.

The field of interventional cardiology has made great strides in developing innovative treatments that have changed the lives of heart patients around the world. Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a less invasive alternative to traditional valve replacement surgery. Currently, TAVR is being used successfully in high-risk patients. This program will move beyond high-risk patients and explore the new boundaries of transcatheter therapy. Participants learn from discussions about maximizing success in valve-in-valve procedures and the key methods of making TAVR programs more efficient. Expert panelists share their knowledge of important considerations when exploring the use of TAVR in the low-risk population.

Over the last couple of years, transcatheter therapies have emerged as a viable alternative to surgical valve replacement. Advancements in these therapies have led to the innovation of transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR). As an increasing number of heart teams look to integrate TMVR into their clinical practice, discussion and understanding of the latest in structural valve treatments will prove critical to positive patient outcomes. This program covers the essentials of successful TMVR, including appropriate patient selection and screening and optimal care. Gain the knowledge needed for these new therapies from expert faculty in an interactive program.

This program is CME accredited.
